Shortly after I received my first card from a Postcrosser, I got my second one from Sandy, who is based in the US.
The card she sent me features a photo of the Rosecliff Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island, which is one of the city's most treasured and protected heritage sites. The mansion was completed in 1902 with a reported cost of $2.5 million. Because of its grand architecture and luxe interiors, the Rosecliff is often tagged as the most beautiful mansion built during the Gilded Age (late 19th century), an era of social turmoil in the United States.
Today, the Rosecliff Mansion has become a popular tourist attraction, as well as a location for weddings and filming. If you're a movie buff, you've probably seen Rosecliff in "27 Dresses", "Amistad", and "The Great Gatsby".
