This has got to be my most favourite card yet! Sent to me by Anne from Germany, I fell in love with it the moment I saw it.
Now, it's no mystery to my senders that I love flowers because that's what I indicated in my Postcrossing profile, and I've already received a bunch of postcards with flowers on them. I really liked all of them, but this one's different. I just love it! The colours, the details, its simplicity... everything about it!
With a bit of research, I found out that the image is actually one of the works of Pierre-Joseph Redouté, a Dutch painter and botanist, who's tagged as the "Raphael of Flowers" and is considered the best botanical illustrator of all time. No wonder the musk rose on the picture is on point!
